New PostDoc Daniel Gallardo Albarran

We would like to introduce our new Postdoc Daniel Gallardo Albarran who started working with us on February 1:

Daniel Gallardo Albarrán studied business management and economic history at the University of Sevilla and the University of Münster. He completed his Ph. D. at the University of Groningen in 2018 with a thesis entitled ‘Health, well-being and inequality over the long term’. He currently works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Rural and Environmental History Group at Wageningen University Research.

His research analyses the measurement and drivers of living standards over the long term, the effect of health on cross-country income inequality and the determinants of health.

Currently, he is working on various projects analyzing the drivers of health inequality across regions and time, the role of sanitary infrastructures on mortality, the evolution of multidimensional welfare since 1870 and the proximate determinants of economic development.
