Carbon markets are an essential tool of current and future efforts to achieve sustainability for human activities in our planet. They can be divided into two types: regulated compliance and voluntary. The regulated market is used by companies and governments that are required by law to account for their GHG emissions. This webinar will address the potential that regulated carbon markets offer to promote effective, long-term, conservation efforts for the world’s forests based on the experiences in Mexico and Colombia.

This Webinar was organized by Rosa Roman-Cuesta, a guest researcher in the Laboratory of Geosciences, Wageningen University, and is the third of a series of events on Blue Carbon in Latin America and the Caribbean, funded by the USAID.
