Successful New Year's reception DUPAN

A lot has been achieved last year for the eel and 2020 also looks promising, DUPAN chairman Alex Koelewijn said during the New Year's reception on January 8. There was a lot of interest in the well-filled official part of the New Year's reception from nature organizations, sport fishing, the government, energy companies and of course the sector itself.

Professor prof. Dr. Ir. Geert Wiegertjes, head of Aquaculture and Fisheries Wageningen UR, gave a short lecture about the book "The book of eels". Author Tom Fort was an editor at the BBC and a fishing correspondent for the Financial Times. DUPAN concludes that: Eel has great economic, culinary and cultural value and therefore needs all the attention it deserves.
