Symposium: Measuring the Photosynthetic phenome

article_published_on_label
June 18, 2014

A meeting to honour the retirement of Jan Snel
Forum building, Wageningen University
7-9 July, 2014

Scope of the meeting

Our own increasing demands on plants for food and the bio-based economy will depend on increases in assimilation in crop plants. Understanding the operation and limitations on photosynthesis is an essential step towards understanding the growth and productivity of plants and improving their performance. However in the absence of techniques that can measure effectively this complex process, our hopes to better understand and improve it would be no more than tears in the rain.

This meeting will offer a multidisciplinary programme in which the state-of-the-art in photosynthetic measurement techniques will be described, along with a special session dealing with developments in high-throughout phenotyping.
