Two GEO courses among 16 best evaluated in university

The courses 'Global landscapes and place-making' and 'Statistics for leisure, tourism and environment' have received Excellent Education Prizes from Wageningen University this year.

Assistant Professor dr. Maarten Jacobs received the award for finding 'a refreshing way of helping students with a statistics phobia to understand them'. He and Assistant Professor dr. Ana Aceska each received 1000 euros which can be used to improve these courses.

Besides the 16 Excellent Education prizes awarded for the best courses, the award ceremoney held on 17 June also gave out prizes to The Teacher of the Year and the best thesis. More details can be found here.

Past reciepients of teaching awards for GEO courses include Michael Marchman (2014, 2016, 2017), Lauren Wagner (2016) and Arjaan Pellis (2017).
