We are looking for

The Public Administration and Policy Group at Wageningen University offers a position for a 4-year PhD project on “The influence of international norms in the shaping of national policies in the food-climate nexus”. Food security and climate change are specific types of policy problems which are particularly difficult to govern and are increasingly connected. Thus far the international norms are developed in separated institutional contexts. The aim of the PhD project is to analyse how different types of international norms  on climate change (mitigation and adaptation) and food security influence national policy change on these domains in low and middle income countries. Key theories include the influence of international norms, boundary spanning policy problems, and mechanisms for policy change. The project will be conducted within the group's research program “Changing governance, governing change.”

More information about the group can be found on www.wur.nl/pap

The research is carried out in Wageningen, and should lead to a PhD dissertation.

The Public Administration and Policy Group

The Public Administration and Policy Group is a young, enthusiastic, ambitious and growing group within the Department of Social Sciences of Wageningen University. It does so by creative synthesis of theories from change management, organization science, public management and policy science. More information on the group can be found on www.wur.nl/pap.
