The Environmental Policy Group has a vacancy for a post-doctoral researcher on the societal aspects of “smart storage” of renewable energy at household and community level.

Storage of renewable energy at household or neighbourhood level has the potential to contribute to a low-carbon energy system while empowering local actors.  Successful implementation of storage systems however relies not just on technologies, but on the longer term support and involvement of  end-users. The research project examines how small-scale storage can be implemented successfully in urban regions by examining the ways in which householders (want to) become engaged in small-scale distributed electricity storage and which organisational arrangements could enable this.

The deadline for application is December 15, 2016.
