This week, Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is participating in the Dutch trade mission to Colombia. This mission is led by Prime Minister Mark Rutte. The Ministers Carola Schouten of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality and Bruno Bruins of Health, Welfare and Sport are also involved.

The South American country is a focus country for WUR. This means extra attention is paid to countries with this label. WUR is sending Ernst van den Ende (PSG), Mathijs Montsma (FBR) and Ria Hulsman (CSA) to take part in the trade mission. During this mission the aim is to show and tell interested parties what kind of research projects WUR has in Colombia.

Monday and Tuesday the trade delegation is in MedellĂn. Among other themes the delegation will talk about Post Harvest technology. During this meeting, Ernst van den Ende and Mathijs Montsma will give a presentation about possible research projects in collaboration with WUR. There are also a number of company visits planned these days, including one at Uniflor: the largest Chrysanthemum company in the world.

Wednesday and Thursday, the trade mission moves to Bogota where a dinner with Mark Rutte is planned. There is also a conference 'Feeding the Cities' where Minister Carola Schouten will speak. Wageningen University & Research will show its scientific knowledge, for example about Metropolitan Solutions.
