WYA part of Centre for Unusual Collaborations
Recently the Centre for Unusual Collaborations (CUCo) opened its (for now virtual) doors. This Centre for Unusual Collaborations is part of the Strategic Alliance between the WUR, Tue, UU and UMCU. The Strategic Alliance strives to facilitate societal transitions in the domains of food, sustainability, health and (renewable) energy.
In order to facilitate discussions and interactions that can foster long term collaboration and commitment, the Young Academies of the four universities founded the Centre for Unusual Collaborations; a meeting space to bring together, train and support ambitious young researchers from across the four institutes. Creating a safe and central place to meet, discuss and brainstorm will increase creative processes, enhance commitment, facilitate inter/multidisciplinary communication, and lift the Alliance project to a sustainable level. The Centre is more than a meeting place, it is also a site of study on interdisciplinary research, team science and a funding body. We aim to support early career researchers and broaden our horizon together to make societal transitions possible.
For now the CUCo is virtual, but soon we will obtain a physical space in Utrecht.
We will organize regular (virtual) symposia and fund project proposals (directed at Young Academy members and connected early career researchers).
