Workshop Scenarios for Water Management in Deltas

Objective of the workshop

Scenarios can be used for planning water management in deltas. This is a relatively new development for both scientists as well as planners and implementing agencies. Scenario development and use provide a way to deal with uncertainties in the future, for planning of land and water management in deltas. The scenarios provide a basis for adaptive delta management. a flexible approach and robust investments. Capacity in universities and government organizations is required for this. The workshop provides a platform for sharing experiences on development and use of scenarios for water management in deltas. Examples in various countries in the world, e.g. Vietnam, Netherlands, and Bangladesh, will be presented..
