Aardappelmoeheid beheersing blijft het motto
Aardappelmoeheid komt weer op. Het vakblad Boerderij geeft in zes paginas aandacht aan de nieuwe uitbraak van aardappelmoeheid in Nederland. De vakgroep Nematologie heeft bijgedragen aan het begrip van deze uitbraak middels het afgronde project Pallifit en het nog lopende project Rostofit. Een belangrijk restultaat vanuit Pallifit is dat er sprake is van resistentie-doorbrekende populaties van Globodera pallida in Nederlandse akkers. Deze uitbraak komt door selectie op bestaande populaties, niet door een nieuwe introductie.
Potato cyst nematodes are on the rise. The Dutch agrarian magazine 'Boerderij' features an article of six pages where the current outbreak of potato cyst nematodes in the Netherlands is disussed. The laboratory of Nematology has helped understanding of this outbreak through the finished project Pallifit and the currently still running project Rostofit. An imporant result is that indeed there are resistance-breaking populations of Globodera pallida in Dutch fields. This outbreak is due to selection on standing genetic variation, not because of a novel introduction.Boerderij Mark
