On Thursday November 28, the advice ‘Smart connections: towards a strong knowledge infrastructure for education’ was handed over to the two education ministers of the Netherlands, Slob and Van Engelshoven.

The advice was crafted by a working group, consisting of representatives of all education sectors in the Netherlands (primary education, secondary education, vocational education, the universities of applied science and the academic universitiea), the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research and the ministry, supported by a moderator. On behalf of the academic universities (VSNU), ELS chair Perry den Brok participated and was one of the co-authors, and was present at the handing over moment to the ministers. The advice places a knowledge infrastructure for education into a broader educational ecosystem, and provides suggestions for agenda setting, ecosystem activities, the infrastructure itself and the governance of NRO. Also, literature on infrastructures, living labs, hybrid collaborations, etc., was inventoried and used to craft recommendatoons. In the advice, also the 4TU.CEE and other ‘green networks’  are mentioned as good practices.
