Finals Wageningen Youth Institute 2020

The third edition of the Wageningen Youth Institute took place on March 19. Due to the coronavirus, this edition was different from previous years. Watch the summary of the day in videos below.

The finals of the Wageningen Youth Institute was opened by Louise O. Fresco, President of the Executive Board of Wageningen University and Research.

The Wageningen Youth Institute challenges high school students to look for solutions to the question: "How will we feed the world in 2050?". High school students advise experts based on their own research. They provide this advice during round table sessions, which took place via Zoom this year.

Barbara Stinson, President of the World Food Prize Foundation, congratulates the finalists of the Wageningen Youth Institute. They are all Borlaug Scholars now. In the video, Barbara explains what that means.

In October, Hoeve will travel to the Global Youth Institute in Des Moines, United States with the Dutch delegation. In addition to attending the World Food Prize ceremony, she will present her advice to world leaders in science, industry and policy.
