Global food security issues addressed to high school students in Model United Nations conference.

On 2 October, Pytrik Reidsma from PPS gave a key-note speech in the opening ceremony of the Lorentz Model United Nations Arnhem (LMUNA). The key note inspired 400 high school students from the Netherlands and abroad to discuss about global food security. It was very interesting and inspiring to see how teenagers are discussing this important topic, and try to find solutions while taking into account the different perspectives of countries across the world.

LMUNA was organized by students of the Lorentz Lyceum in Arnhem from 2-4 October. LMUNA is part of the National Model United Nations (NMUN). NMUN conferences are a simulation of the United Nations assembly in which high school students around the world can engage. In each NMUN, students debate about a specific topic.
