Are you working on or interested in climate adaptation issues? Are you looking for information about the past, current and future climate? Follow a free training event on how to use the Copernicus Climate Data Store (CDS) platform and its content to support your climate change adaptation issues in the water, agriculture and energy sectors. Training programmes combine online learning and face-to-face events in 30 countries across Europe.

Copernicus Climate Data Store (CDS)

The Copernicus Climate Data Store contains the geophysical
information needed to analyse climate change indicators in a
consistent and harmonised way. The CDS provides free access
to the past, present and future climate data. It is a one-stop
shop for users to explore climate data. Easy access to climate
indicators via the CDS provides scientists, policy makers and
businesses with the necessary information to help make
decisions for a more sustainable future.

C3S Learning Services & Wageningen

The ambition of the C3S User Learning Services, part of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) (see also background information) is to provide high quality training to those who want and need to use climate data and to support capacity building across Europe. Wageningen University & Research is amongst others involved in the face-to-face training organization and communication of the C3S training. Wageningen Environmental Research and Wageningen Academy are the specific parties involved.

Training content

The 3-day blended learning event is a combination of eLearning, face-to-face lectures, hands-on activities and group discussions. Through learning by doing, participants will discover the potentials of the CDS and how the open data can be used to solve their climate change adaptation challenges. They will define data needs for specific climate change adaptation cases and develop a methodology to use the CDS data to assess climate change impacts. Training events will provide a variety of learning activities. You are encouraged to work on your own adaptation challenge. Highly qualified trainers will provide training in the local language and English. Training events are freely available and travel and subsistence costs are partly reimbursed.
