New colleague Elnura Ahmadzada joined ELS per September 2024

My name is Elnura Ahmadzada, and I am a new PhD student in the ELS group at Wageningen University and Research. I am from Azerbaijan, and I have experience in teaching, working in higher education, participating in international educational research projects, and serving in the public sector. Previously, I worked at the Ministry of Science and Education in Azerbaijan.

My philosophy of life is rooted in a love for nature, protecting it, and promoting its preservation. This passion led me to write my master's thesis on Environmental Education (EE). My interest in this topic stemmed from my desire to combine my fascination with nature with my academic pursuits.

My PhD research project aims to enhance the Environmental Education (EE) curriculum in Azerbaijani primary schools by integrating a nature-based, social-emotional approach to foster holistic child development and environmental sustainability. The study will assess the current EE programme's effectiveness and explore the potential of the Social-Emotional and Environmental Education Development (SEED) framework within a nature-focused curriculum.
