New HSO member: Natalie Vinkeles Melchers-Martinez
My name is Natalie Vinkeles Melchers-Martinez; I am appointed as Assistant Professor at the Health & Society group. The last 15 years I have mainly worked in the field of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in middle- and low-income countries in relation to health system strengthening, capacity building, monitoring & evaluation, and impact evaluations of control interventions (using e.g., statistical, spatial and mathematical modelling techniques). My research at WUR will continue in this line, but I also would like to investigate the impact of climate change and planetary health on disease transmission and control interventions while taking account of social determinants of health and risk factors. In my free time, I like to snowboard/ski, walk/hike, travel, and spend time with my children.
