After a long time at sea, researcher Serdar Sakinan finally arrived back home from the MOSAiC expedition in June. Due to travel restrictions, resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, he was away from home for almost five months, floating on the Arctic Ocean. During this time, he stayed at research vessel Polarstern, which was anchored to an ice floe, in order to collect fish and zooplankton samples for biological research. Here you can find a photo impression of his time in the high north.

During Easter there is some time for people to relax and some people spend this time fishing with angling rods. An additional advantage of this leisure time activity is of course the possibility of catching some more fish for research! (Photo: Serdar Sakinan).
