Programme developments
The WDCC is actively involved in various developments regarding Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, providing opportunities for value creation and requiring strong data management practices and an accessible infrastructure, as you will read further in this newsletter. From an organizational perspective, we are aligning these activities with the Digital Strategy, as part of the new WUR Strategic Plan. Digitalisation will play a pivotal role in the WUR Strategic Plan. This is also to be supported by increased coordination between the teams and departments involved, like IT Services, Library, Information Management, and WDCC.
For the coming months, Yannick van Gelder replaces Willem Jan Knibbe as first contact for WDCC. He will determine what to do and, if necessary, whom to contact. In this manner, we wish to give continuity to the operations of WDCC and at the same give Willem Jan time for a healthy recovery from a concussion. Yannick, Willem Jan, and Richard Harrison are in regular contact for managing the programme of WDCC. Willem Jan also remains available for specific topics. For the time being, Yannick will have less time available for knowledge transfer and value creation but remains available for pressing matters or can refer you to colleagues at Co-Creating Value & Impact (CVI).
Moreover, we are currently recruiting (internally) for the position of coordinator research and coordinator education. Therefore, the content for these topics is missing in this newsletter. We aim to give you names and updates again in the upcoming newsletter!
