Romanian Award of Excellence in Earth and Space Sciences
Ovidiu Csillik has received the Award of Excellence in Earth and Space Sciences from the Association of Romanian Researchers – Ad Astra, the category of early-career researcher (<7 years) with affiliation outside Romania.
This important national award is given every two years for six broad domains of research and is split between early-career and experienced researchers. The prizes were awarded by juries based on the excellent research performance of those nominated. Ovidiu joined WUR at the beginning of 2020 working on monitoring tropical forests using Earth Observation data and machine learning.
