Socio-economics aspects of animal disease crises
The Business Economics group is organising the coming section seminar ‘socio-economics aspects of animal disease crises.’ Animal diseases can have a devastating impact on the agribusiness sector. Farmers suffer the loss of their animals when they have to be culled. Supply chains become disrupted. Both financial and emotional damage is done by animal diseases. In the coming section seminar we will hear more about the societal and economic impact of animal disease crises.
Besides that we will discuss how social sciences can communicate as a whole with decision makers. For decision makers economists often appear to be a separate group apart from the social sciences. But economists are part of social sciences too. Henk Hogeveen of the Business Economics group will lead us into a discussion about a collective story that the section Business Science can communicate to decision makers. The coming section seminar will take place on Friday the 14th of January from 12.00 to 13.00. If you would like to join the seminar, please contact Laura de Graaf.
