Using MRI to examine the stomach
PhD candidate Morwarid Mayar developed a technique to study digestion with MRI by measuring changes in the structure of the stomach contents.
‘We need a technique that allows us to look inside the stomach,’ says PhD candidate Morwarid Mayar, ‘so we can see how milk is digested in the body.’ Last Tuesday she received her doctorate cum laude for her pioneering work on techniques for studying the digestion of milk proteins.
