Wageningen Common Data Solution Programme
In January, the eleven projects from the 1st round of the WCDS programme were completed. Summaries of these projects are available in the factsheets here. The WCDS team reviewed the project reports and identified three key takeaways, along with five recommended actions for WUR. These insights are summarized in the reflection sheet here. Moving forward, WDCC will integrate these insights and recommendations into WUR’s discussions on governance and the Digital Strategy & Roadmap.
Four projects from the second round were completed in March. The evaluation and results will follow.
Over the past two years, the WCDS programme has made significant progress in identifying infrastructure challenges and improving research data management. However, insights from 15 projects reveal ongoing issues such as too many data-sharing solutions, scattered data, lack of interoperability, unclear cost structures, and limited iRODS maturity and support. In the coming month, the programme will take the next step to address these challenges by following the technical team’s roadmap and focusing on three key goals: enhancing the usability of data solutions, improving the integration of data services, and increasing ease of use and accessibility.
