New publication: Waste Water Reuse for irrigation in Arid Areas: Innovative farmers guidebook
The booklet is published in the framework of the 'WAWARIA - WasteWater Reuse for Irrigation in Arid Region' project, by Philippe Ker Rault.
Summary
This booklet presents guidance to set up an irrigation system based on treated wastewater using drip irrigation under greenhouses. The design has been made specially to address agriculture in arid region. Given the summer heat conditions, agriculture in the desertic climate is impossible from June to September. However, from October to May up to 3 crop cycles are manageable in greenhouses.
The last part of this booklet introduces the alternative of treated waste water reuse in open field, which is more appropriate for some of the crops.
