Ana Gonzalez-Martinez has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of the Basque Country (Spain). In 2018, she joined Wageningen Economic Research (WEcR) as an AGMEMOD modeler. Within the AGMEMOD consortium, she has a particular focus on preparing the outlook for fruit and vegetable markets at EU Member State level. At WEcR, she contributes on a regular basis to studies that involve the use of the AGMEMOD model for both scenario analysis and market outlook purposes. Ana started her career at Cambridge Econometrics (UK) where she gained experience in operating large macro-econometric models and contributed to international consultancy projects mainly in the area of renewable energy. From September 2016 to July 2018, she took a consultant position at Ecorys (Netherlands), carrying out econometric modelling for assisting policy makers in different fields. Moreover, in the past, Ana has led two assignments commissioned by UNESCO to provide forecasting services and scenario analysis. Since 2018, she has been focusing on conducting ex-ante analysis by means of quantitative tools of various aspects of EU and Dutch agricultural policies. Some examples of this type of work Potential Consequences of the 2019 African Swine Fever Outbreak in East Asia; Impact Assessment Study on EC 2030 Green Deal Targets for Sustainable Food Production; Scenario Study on Future Pathways for Dutch Agriculture in 2050; BioMonitor; Support for Policy Relevant Modelling of Agriculture. In the context of the BioMonitor project, Ana contributed to the econometric estimation of the equations of the BioMAT model. Apart from that, she has also co-authored more than 30 academic articles, which have been published in journals such as Land Use Policy, EuroChoices, Economic Analysis and Policy and Economic Modelling among others.
