AAM (Asma) Balfaqih

As an operations manager, I leverage my experience in project management, research, and strategic planning to drive efficiency and innovation in organizational processes at SBL. My expertise lies in streamlining cross-functional operations and enhancing communication within multidisciplinary teams. Over the past years, I worked in academia, start-ups, and the private sector. Within the Soil Biology group, my duties include overseeing day to day operations including HR, finances, facilities, and communications. I also work on managing internal processes, conducting staff onboarding, as well as ensuring compliance with university policies and regulations. 

I hold a background in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam and in Psychology from NYU. I am committed to leveraging my skills to foster an inclusive and productive environment at the Soil Biology group. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, photography, and various sports like running and badminton.
