After the bachelor Soil, Water and Atmosphere and Master Soil Science, I started my PhD on soil data in regional land use analysis. This was a joint PhD project with the International Crop Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT). I did a post-doc at the University of Oxford for the Malaria Atlas Project. My role within the project was to model the use and potential fate of agricultural insecticides in malaria endemic regions in Africa. These insecticide can cause insecticide resistance in malaria transmitting mosquitoes. At the moment I'm working for Wageningen Environmental Research as researcher soil and climate in the team Sustainable Soil Use. I'm involved in several projects on sustainable agriculture. Within the projects  model the carbon and nutrient cycle at different scales.
