Fran is a PhD Candidate in Bioprocess Engineering at Wageningen University & Research (WUR), specializing in the economic and environmental sustainability assessment of bioprocesses using methodologies such as Techno-Economic Analysis and Life Cycle Assessment. Currently, he is developing a techno-economic model for cellular agriculture (cultivated meat and seafood) within the FEASTS consortium, a Horizon Europe project funded by the European Commission.
Fran holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology (Environmental and Biobased Technology) from WUR, where he explored innovative processes to enhance environmental and economic impact. He has valuable experience developing sustainable solutions at Jacobs Douwe Egberts’ (JDE) Technology Solutions department and has contributed to projects at the Basque Centre for Climate Change in Spain, focusing on sustainable resource management.
