The politics of climate engineering. Speculative technologies to engineer the climate by enhancing the Earth's reflectivity or its capacity to absorb carbon dioxide are becoming increasingly pronounced in discussions on how to address the climate crisis. At the same time, their appearance on the scientific and political agenda raises concerns about the implications of considering still largely imaginary technologies as a part of climate policy. This project, funded by the Wageningen PostDoc talent programme, explores the interface between scientific expertise and policy making in the case of climate engineering.
