PhD project (2013-2017): Pig behaviour and related sustainability performance in novel farm designs: an agent-based approach.
PhD position at the Animal Production Systems Group on complex adaptive systems: pig behaviour and related sustainability performance in novel farm designs: an agent-based approach. Modelling pig behaviour in intensive housing systems from a motivational pig perspective.

ClearFarm (2019-2023): Co-designed Welfare Monitoring Platform for Pig and Dairy Cattle
This project will design a software platform to provide animal welfare information, via use of sensor technology. It will help producers to optimize the production process and consumers to have more information about the background of animal products. Consumers, producers, regulators and policy makers are involved from the beginning in the design of this new platform.

Enlighted pigs (2020-2024): integrating light with animal-friendly and sustainable farming
In animal husbandry light has a large influence on behaviour, health, growth and therefore welfare of the animals. We aim to increase fundamental knowledge on light for pigs, and to develop adaptive light concepts to contribute to sustainable pig production.
