Forest are beautiful, fascinating and very important ecosystems for humanity. I am interested in the drivers of tree species abundances, and how the composition of these species affect forest function and resilience. During my PhD research at ETH Zürich I asked these questions at a global scale, and nowadays during my postdoc I mainly work on secondary tropical forest systems.
