» Humanity is blessed with living on the only planet in our solar system with millions of different insect species. My work focuses on how we can conserve these endless forms for future generations.

» Insects are everywhere and they are vital for ecosystem functioning and they provide us with many free ecosystem services. I research how we can work together with nature, rather than against it, and how we can create more biodiversity-friendly ecosystems in the process.

» My publications show how humans can affect insect biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, and how this in turn can be beneficial or detrimental for humans.

» In recent years, I have particularly focused on how we can improve agricultural fields to increase insect biodiversity, and how these insects in turn can provide better crop protection and change yields.
