I finalized the bachelor program Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University with a minor course program in Food Technology. In 2014, I continued with the master program Molecular Nutrition and Toxicology and followed an additional minor outside the program in Biomedical Research. During the master program, I was selected to participate in an honours programme, initiated by the graduate school VLAG, in preparation for a career in academia.
I obtained my Ph.D degree at the Division of Human Nutrition and Health (Nutrition, Metabolism and Genomics group) at Wageningen University. The PhD project was performed within the CarboKinetics program within the NWO-Carbohydrate Competence Center (NWO-CCC) partnership. The title of my PhD project is: ''Studies on non-digestible carbohydrates in the human intestine. Focus on kinetics of fermentation and degradation.''
