Projects - prof.dr. M (Marielos) Peña Claros
I am part of the following networks and projects:
The 2ndFOR is a collaborative research network focusing on understanding the ecology, dynamics, and biodiversity of tropical secondary forests and the ecosystem services they provide in human-modified tropical landscapes.
The Tropical Managed Forest Observatory network (TmFO) is a network of permanent sample plots established in managed forests around the tropics. In this network we look at the recovery rates of timber, carbon stocks and tree diversity along gradients of logging intensity and environmental conditions.
The BIOFOREST project (funded by CESAB) aims to study the effects of logging and environmental factors on tree diversity, carbon sequestration and timber recovery, and to model forest recovery under different management practices and climate change scenarios.
