dr.ir. N (Negin) Salimi

Assistant Professor

Negin Salimi is an Assistant Professor at the Business Management and Organization group of Wageningen University and Research. She earned her Ph.D. in Innovation Management from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), the Netherlands. Prior to joining WUR, she held postdoctoral research positions at the Economics of Technology and Innovations section of TU Delft’s Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management, and the Science-Based Business group at Leiden University.

She has worked extensively in areas such as entrepreneurship decisions, sustainable entrepreneurship, the circular economy, technology and innovation management, and sustainability. Her expertise includes applying advanced quantitative methodologies, such as statistical methods and decision-making models, to these fields.

Her research goes beyond descriptive approaches commonly found in entrepreneurship studies. She adopts prescriptive methodologies, such as Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM), to provide actionable solutions for entrepreneurs. These tools enable systematic analysis of trade-offs and help entrepreneurs navigate uncertainties, empowering them to address complex challenges and contribute to societal and environmental goals.

Her unique approach integrates methodologies for micro-level decision-making with macro-level statistical analyses, offering insights into the interplay between these levels. This dual perspective fosters innovative solutions that enhance both entrepreneurial success and sustainable development.

She has published her research in high-impact journals, including the International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Technology Transfer, Science and Public Policy, Scientometrics, Technovation, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, and Journal of Environmental Management.

She also contributes to the FOEBE+ project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, which equips bioeconomy students with sustainable entrepreneurship skills to accelerate the European bioeconomy sector.

In addition to her research, she teaches entrepreneurship courses and supervises Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. students, fostering the development of future leaders in sustainable entrepreneurship.
