I studied Plant Sciences (M.Sc.) at the University of Bonn, Germany. I started my research journey on plant stress responses in the group of Prof. Hoorn (University of Oxford, UK), where I studied tomato-Cladosporium fulvum interactions for my M.Sc. thesis project. I did my Ph.D. at the Technical University of Munich, Germany (Prof. Stam’s group), focusing on polymorphisms in defence responses of the wild tomato species Solanum chilense. I did a brief (9 months) Post-doc at Prof. Ranf’s laboratory (Technical University of Munich, Germany), where I worked on disease resistance engineering in tomatoes.

I started working as a postdoctoral scientist at the Laboratory of Plant Physiology in April 2022. I am part of the MiCRop consortium. My work in the initial phase at the Laboratory of Plant Physiology focused on above-ground tissue characteristics of wild and domesticated tomatoes under drought stress. Now I am working on understanding the molecular links between salinity stress responses and how this can influence high-density cropping and soil-derived signals.
