Climate change and global water resources: global adaptation strategies for the agricultural sector
Worldwide, it is agreed upon that taking adaption measures is necessary for increasing climate resilience. Still many sectors don't have the tools to quantify and evaluate the effects of the proposed measures. To make an informed cost-benefit analysis of various measures these tools are essential.
Research into the suitability of existing impact-models to quantify the effects of adaptation measures is necessary to make an informed choice for specific adaptation measures.
The goal of this project is to develop a tool to quantify the effects of proposed adaptation measures and to analyse more optimal combinations of land and water use.
This project contributes to the quantification of the effects of adaptation strategies in agriculture and water sectors that can cope with the tremendously increasing demand for food by a combination of demographic and economic developments.
