Developing new analytical methods for agricultural products

The main purpose is to develop and implement new analytical methods to determine the identity, quality and nutritional value of agricultural products.

Focus is on nutrients and food supplements. By changing legislation and new technical possibilities method development is desirable for the nVWA laboratory. In 2012 focus will be on the determination of vitamin A and vitamin D levels in foods and supplements by LC-MS. For this research RIKILT and nVWA work closely.


RIKILT will make a method for vitamin A and D by LC-MS which has been described in the scientific literature operational. Subsequently the method will be transferred to the NVWA which will validate the methodology for internal use.
