EARTHWORK - Dating of earthworks in the coastal and fluvial landscapes of the Netherlands

PhD project by Jelle Moree, as part of the NWO programme ‘Future directions in Dutch archaeological research’

Goal: investigate the age, functions (changing over time) of- and cohesion between different (types of) dykes and dwelling mounds ('mounds', but also other types) in the river and coastal areas of the Netherlands by means of luminescence dating techniques in combination with other sources, such as archaeological, historical, paleogeographical, geological, Quaternary geological and geomorphological research.
