Fine dust emissions

In 2011, measures have been developed to reduce fine dust emissions from poultry farms. In 2012, these measures are tested in practice.

The Netherlands has an international obligations concerning the emissions of ammonia, fine dust, nitrate, methane and nitrous oxide. In recent years a policy is deployed to reduce the emission of fine dust in the Netherlands. In particular poultry housing contributes largely to the emission of fine dust in the Netherlands. This can be reduced by various technical measures. In 2011 the development and optimization of such measures was started for the current poultry sector. Further research to make green elements suitable for practice as a fine dust reduction technique for livestock, and the contribution to the dissemination of fine dust reduction measures are also goal to this project.
