Global development pathways for agriculture

Increase in population pressure, income and related diets determine the views of the future demand for food and green raw materials and the need for a transition towards a biobased economy.

The interpretation of this question from different land use types is a continuous task that depends on gradual changes but also strongly depends on price and weather shocks.

The result of this project is to provide insight into the options to meet the growing demand for food and renewable resources to continue to provide within a changing climate and taking into account the effects on greenhouse gas emissions and soil and water services. The answer to the questions of how agriculture can respond to a changing climate and what contribution agriculture can make to reducing the cause of climate change, are also part of this project.
