PhD S.Gebhardt (UU) - Environmental response to spatial scenarios of circular agriculture

Abstract:

This PhD project aims to simulate the environment’s response to different circular farming types and various land use arrangement options. In order to achieve this objective, a model is developed that calculates the ecosystem service supply from land use maps including circular agriculture variants. The research investigates the mechanisms and processes that underpin the effect of landscape compositions and configuration on ecosystem service supply to include them into the modelling of those services. Additionally, the PhD utilizes stakeholder involvement to validate the model settings and cater the ecosystem service calculation towards the stakeholder experience.
