AFI PhD Knowledge Exchange Programme, June 18-30, 2023
Through an initiative of a group of AFI PhDs, 13 PhDs and 2 staff members will visit Indonesia for a knowledge exchange trip. Through this trip we aim to share the latest knowledge and experiences in aquaculture and challenges in biodiversity and conservation. Also this offers a great chance to the PhDs to extend their international scientific network.
During the trip the participants will visit the islands of Java and Lombok. The first visits are planned in Jakarta after which Bogor and Bandung are visited. Finally the group travels to Lombok for the final visits.
In addition to the visits to start-ups, universities/institutes and companies, two seminars are hosted. The first seminar will be held on 23 June in Bandung. This seminar titled ‘Integrating insights for sustainable aquatic systems’ is organized together with WUR, ITB, IPB and sponsors. The second seminar ‘Connecting Dutch and Indonesian Expertise in Aquatic Research and Industry’ will be held on 27 June in Lombok. This seminar is organized in collaboration with BRIN and sponsors of the trip.
At both seminars a mix of presentations will be given by participants of the knowledge exchange trip and employees from the collaborating institutes and sponsors.
