Call for Partners | Advancing Sustainable Fertilisers for Greenhouse Horticulture
The recirculation of water and fertilisers makes greenhouse horticulture highly efficient in the use of these resources. However, the sector remains heavily dependent on the import of raw materials (natural gas and minerals) for the production of fertilisers. Societal expectations, new legislation (CSRD), and geopolitical shifts are putting pressure on existing supply chains. That is why we are looking for partners to jointly develop circular fertiliser chains that are future-proof and environmentally friendly.
We are looking for partners!
Are you a fertiliser producer, technology provider, grower, or another industry stakeholder with an interest in sustainable fertilizers? Or do you have a residual flow that’s now going to waste? We would love to hear from you! Which challenges and research questions do you think should be addressed right now? By participating in the upcoming PPP call (2025), we will co-develop a project with outcomes that are relevant and applicable in practice.
Our expertise
Wageningen University & Research has extensive expertise and state-of-the-art facilities in greenhouse horticulture and purification & separation techniques. Our capabilities include:
- Identifying technologies and promising solid & liquid residual flows as sources for nutrient recovery;
- Implementing technologies to remove unwanted (phytotoxic) components;
- Defining end-product specifications and assessing compliance with greenhouse horticulture requirements;
