Developing analytical tools for mycotoxins and plant toxins
Mycotoxins and plant toxins in our food (natural toxins produced by resp. Fungi and plants) are important factors in causing disease in humans and animals.
To reduce the risk to public health, data on exposure are necessary. This calls for methods that can detect reliably low infections. This requires innovative methods developed and validated more efficient and effective than existing methods are and which can be used in various matrices.
The objective of the project is to develop analytical tools and thus to obtain data on the incidence and significance of mycotoxins and phytotoxins. This is an ongoing project with other topics each year.
