Transfer knowledge system grassland birds

Meadow birds are important in Dutch Nature conservation. Provincial governments are instrumental in carrying out this conservation policy. The national government is involved with keeping in touch with the development on a national level related to the national ambition.

To enable that, use of uniform methods is important (a.o. quality assessment of the habitat mozaics and monitoring) as well as the desire to come to so-called core areas for meadow birds. Recently, the Ministry has invested in a knowledge-system on habitat quality and in the development of the concept of these core areas.

This project aims to disseminate the built-up knowledge for further implementation of the policy related to meadow birds. Relevant  stakeholders are: provincial governments, agri-environmental societies and nature-conservation agencies.

This project will result in a report on each core area, an overview of the remaining bottlenecks as well as suggestions for further actions.
