Scenario’s voor het energiegebruik van een klimaatneutrale Nederlandse glastuinbouw
Smit, Pepijn; Beekman, Volkert
Summary
Four scenarios for the energy use of climate-neutral Dutch greenhouse horticulture provide diverse pictures. The area of greenhouse horticulture in the scenarios for 2040 is expected to decrease. The energy demand in 2040 is expected to be lower and the electricity demand differs per scenario. The energy supply in the various scenarios for 2040 shifts from the current situation with mainly natural gas to geothermal energy, heat pumps and electricity purchase. Towards the residual emission target 2030, reducing heat demand remains important and accelerating fossil-free supply is necessary. For the goals and ambitions for the energy transition and the vitality of the greenhouse horticulture sector, an awareness of uncertainties and challenges is important, as well as the sector’s area size, market appreciation and social support.
