Policy & regulatory advice
We follow the latest developments in legislation and regulations relating to the treatment of waste streams. We also actively participate in relevant platforms such as the European Food losses and Food Waste Initiative, which started in 2016. We help companies and governments in the preparation of novel-foods files, for example on the use of mild-conservation methods for extending shelf life. We also develop clear protocols and guidelines, for example on the use of insects and agrifood residues in animal feed.
We give both individual and sector-wide advice. Recently, we explored what could be done with the sugar surplus that will follow the abolition of sugar quotas (by 2017), considering sugar is an interesting ingredient for producers of chemical products.
