Post-doctoral researcher (2 years, with optional 2 year extension)

We are seeking a Postdoctoral researcher in Bioinformatics to become part of a young research team investigating the mechanism of CRISPR-Cas immune systems and their interaction with bacteriophages. This position requires a profound knowledge and hands-on experience with next generation sequencing data generation and data analysis. The candidate is experienced in scripting and sequence data analysis using R or similar. A successful candidate has a track record of writing scientific publications. The candidate can manage students and technicians. Previous wetlab experience in molecular microbiology and/or CRISPR is a pre. This project is a collaboration wit Dr B. Dutilh, Bioinformatics, University of Utrecht, Netherlands.

Qualifications and competencies

PhD in bioinformatics, molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology, biotechnology or related field. The candidate is capable of generating, handling and analyzing NGS sequencing data using R, or similar.

We offer

We offer you a temporary position for a period of 2 years (including a trial period of 6 months) with possibility for extension of another 2 years. Gross salary approximately € 2800 based on a fulltime employment and dependent on expertise and experience.
