Australian researchers have discovered corals who seem to be heat resistant. This is great news because a large part of the coral reefs are dying because of heat stress. Dr. Ronald Osinga talks about the work he and his team have been doing on researching what mechanisms underlie heat stress in a segment on the Dutch news channel RTL Nieuws. In the future researchers hope to cross the heat resistant corals with those that are less resilient in order to secure the persistence of coral reefs.
